Hello and Welcome to Home & Hallow!

I’m Casey and I am so glad you are here. I started this blog to document my love for creating a beautiful yet practical home where my family can function and thrive. I believe the home is the center of it all, so I’m always balancing my latest DIY project with my greatest project of all: raising our son and growing our little family. Through countless DIY projects and much trial and error I’ve learned that you don’t need a large budget or an extensive skill set to transform a house into a beautiful and welcoming home. Join me as I share creative inspiration for DIY projects and crafts, affordable home design and organization, parties and celebrations, highlights and updates of our growing family, and even the occasional recipe from time to time.

Here you will see all the happenings going on under our roof: both the home and the heart, at the center of which is our everyday life as a family. Proverbs 31 portrays homemaking as a calling and depicts a woman who “looketh well to the ways of her household.” My highest calling is to cultivate a household where God comes first and our family honors Him in all we do. Hallow by definition means to make holy, to sanctify. Because of Christ’s love for us “we have been made holy through the sacrifice of the body of Jesus Christ once for all” (Hebrews 10:10).

I am married to handsome bowtie-wearing attorney Craig, mama to the sweetest blonde headed blue-eyed baby boy John Davis, and soon-to-be mama to baby boy number two due to arrive this summer. We call the peach state home and outside of being wife and mom I work part-time as a Cardiology Nurse Practitioner. Otherwise you can find me dreaming up my next DIY project or transforming and repurposing my latest thrift store buy into something beautiful, which is why I’m usually covered in paint. I guess you could say I’m always looking for hidden potential and I love a good before and after.

I value simplicity and functionality, and organized spaces make me happier than I care to admit. I love all things timeless and classic so it’s no surprise that I always gravitate toward neutrals. I’m proud of my southern roots and in true southern fashion if it doesn’t move I will put a monogram on it. I believe you can never go wrong with pink or with pearls, and ironically I can often be found wearing both while using my ever growing collection of power tools. I’m an old soul, a homebody, and I’m extremely close to my family who you will see here frequently as DIY projects are normally a family affair and creativity runs through my blood.

I’m so happy you are here and I can’t wait to have you follow along!
