Jesus-Centered Elf on the Shelf
I received such an overwhelming response after sharing our Jesus-center adaptation of Elf on the Shelf on Instagram that I want to share it here as a free download for anyone who would like to use it.
I so appreciate your support and I hope this fun little printable will bless you and your family this Christmas season as you create fun memories with your children, and more importantly, teach them God’s word.
If you use it I would so love it if you would share by tagging me on Instagram 🙂

This is our first year doing Elf on the Shelf, and I must admit I am just *a little* excited!
But first let me explain: I don’t want anyone to get the wrong idea or think I am knocking Elf on the Shelf. After all, I am the first one to jump at the opportunity to set up totally unnecessary cute and fun little things for my children. Yep, I’m totally that mom! #extra 🙂 Also – who is against a little innocent Santa bribery to encourage your children to behave?!
But spending time making a big deal about some made up Elf without any mention of the real meaning of Christmas – well, it just felt wrong.
So I put our own little spin on Elf on the Shelf this year that keeps the birth of Jesus at the front and center.
Our Elf Bronson (John Davis named him Bronson… which also happens to be the name of my Grandmother’s dog 🙂 ) arrived on December 1st with a letter explaining what Christmas is really all about.

In addition to the letter, our Elf Bronson will bring a scripture card every day in December.
There are 24 numbered scripture cards telling the story of the birth of Jesus.
John Davis loves numbers and putting things in order. So the idea is that he will collect one scripture card each day and put them in order. We will read them together (and practice a little verse memorization!) everyday leading up to Christmas and by Christmas Eve he will have (and hopefully know) the entire Christmas story.
I haven’t decided yet how we are going to display them. You could put magnets on the back to hang on the refrigerator, or you could use miniature clothespins to clip them on red baker’s twine.
Merry Christmas and Happy “Elf-ing!”
But the angel said to them, “Do not be afraid. I bring you good news that will cause great joy for all the people. Today in the town of David a Savior has been born to you; he is the Messiah, the Lord.”
