Easter Basket Fillers
Easter basket fillers
Putting together Easter baskets for the boys is probably one of my favorite things I get to do as a parent! Yes, right up there with being Ms. Claus 😉
Jesus, resurrection, the promise of new life that is visible all around. Not to mention pastels, gingham, spring, deviled eggs, and bunnies, bunnies and more bunnies. Easter is just the best!
Rather than fill their Easter baskets up with a bunch of junk and candy (don’t worry, they do get a little of that too!), I’ve developed my Easter Basket “recipe” that I use to fill Easter baskets every year.
This Easter Basket filler “recipe” stocks them up on a few things they will need anyways going into the Summer while still including some “just for fun” Easter items too.
I always include a swimsuit and coverup/rash guard, a pair of Spring/Summer shoes, goggles or sunglasses, a hat, Easter books, outdoor toys like bubble guns (these are a favorite and on repeat every year), and of course some Easter candy like Peeps and Reese’s peanut butter eggs 🙂
I’ve rounded up a few of my favorites by category below. These are all items we have owned or that I have personally bought and keep coming back to year after year!

Easter Baskets and Liners
Early on I decided to invest in a nice Easter Basket for all three boys and I am so glad that I did! These baskets are so well-made and such great quality. The gingham bunny liner is my personal favorite and is the exact liner I have used for all three boys the past few years.
swim
My boys have grown about a foot since last summer so one thing they always need is a new bathing suit. Cecil and Lou always has the cutest suits at such a great price point. And bonus – they offer monogramming!
Cover ups and Rash Guards
To go with that new swimsuit I always include a new rash guard. The solid rash guards from Target are some of my favorite but you have to scoop them up fast because they always sell out! This year I may include that adorable coverup for the baby too 🙂
Puddle jumper Covers
IYKYK. Need I say more? Big thank you to whoever invented cute gingham and seersucker puddle jumper covers!
Hats
Continuing on with the summer theme, I love to include a bonnet or bucket hat for the baby, and a monogrammed or personalized baseball hat for the big boys.
Every baby needs a proper bonnet, especially at Easter.
beach towels
Perfect to throw in to continue on with the summer theme. My older boys will love the personalized sports towels. Blue seersucker for the baby, of course!
Shoes
See above about my boys growing about a foot each since last summer. Their feet are no exception. Easter is a perfect time to buy a new pair of shoes for the Spring and summer. These are all of our personal favorites and about the only shoes that the boys ever wear! Red Keds and Sun-San sandals for the baby, and Natives for the big boys are on repeat every single year.
Pajamas
Never not needing a fresh pair of pajamas! These are perfect for the Easter season but can also be worn all year round.
Outdoor Toys
Now for some of the fun part! The bubble guns appear in the Easter baskets every single year and are always a favorite for all of the boys (of all ages!).
Keepsakes
It would be so sweet to incorporate a heirloom keepsake item into the Easter baskets. These are a few of my favorites and would be something they would have forever.
Books
I always include at least one or two new Easter books that help tell the story of the Gospel and Jesus’ resurrection!
Glasses and Goggles
The start of pool season means the boys will need a pair of goggles for swimming. Also topping the list for the big boys this year is a pair of “real” baseball sunglasses 🙂
tabletop
I absolutely adore the Peter Rabbit tabletop collection from Pottery Barn kids. A few years ago I stocked up on some of the placemats and melamine plates on clearance after the season!
TOYS
More fun toys for kids of all ages. Those matching eggs are always a favorite.
Baby
Nothing sweeter than shopping for a baby at Easter. Put them in those bonnets, sunsuits and bubbles while you still can!
sweets
What is Easter without Peeps and Reese’s peanut butter eggs?! The boys will love this pre-made kit for making an Easter house!
peter rabbit
I have a personal weakness when it comes to anything Peter rabbit and I have no shame about it (examples here and here).
Dollar TREE EASTER BASKET FILLERS
I inevitably end up putting in some things from the DollarTree or the Target DollarSpot like crayons, Play-Doh, Easter crafts, bunny ears headband, and of course some Hotwheels cars 😉
