about Casey
Hi! I’m Casey, the heart and hands behind this blog.
I am a wife and mom of three rowdy boys living on a family farm in North Georgia. A former Nurse Practitioner turned homeschooling, stay at home mom and self-taught DIY enthusiast. I love the process of turning my house into a home – one DIY project, thrifting adventure, and high-end-look on budget endeavor at a time!
I believe home is more than just a place. Home is our safe haven, the keepers of our most treasured memories, and a feeling of love.
Home is hallowed ground.
It’s for this reason that I am passionate about creating an intentional home. And I want to help others do the same!
how it started
My love for all things home started out of necessity. My husband and I bought our first home as newlyweds – a foreclosure fixer upper in need of a lot of love. We had a nonexistent budget, but we still wanted a home we loved and could be proud of.
It forced me to get creative. I learned to paint furniture, how to shop the thrift stores and Facebook Marketplace for secondhand decor, how to use power tools, and how to replicate high end looks on a budget. Through countless DIY projects and much trial and error I learned that you don’t need a large budget or extensive skill set to transform a house into a beautiful and welcoming home.
Our first little house ignited a passion in me that I didn’t know I had.
where are we now?
Casey and her husband have long sold that first little foreclosure fixer upper that sparked her passion for making a house a home. We have since bought and sold a second home in order to live out our dream of buying land and building our own home.
In 2019 we purchased a rundown 20 acre farm in North Georgia and took on our most ambitious DIY yet: contracting our very own custom home build. Everyday since we have been working to make it our own.
