First Day of School Teacher Gift with Free Printable
First Day of School Teacher Gift with Free Printable
I love sending in a little gift with John Davis for his teachers on the first day of school. It’s a small gesture to show how thankful we are for all they do and to celebrate the start of a new school year.
You may remember the M&M treat printable from last year that you can find and download here.
As is the custom to bring an apple for the teacher on the first day of school, I decided to go with a cute little apple ( + caramel!) themed gift basket this year.
This apple themed first day of school teacher gift (with FREE printable!) is quick, easy, and inexpensive to put together. It looks adorable as a gift and I am going to show you exactly how you can create your own!
What You Need:

- Apples
- Old Fashioned Caramel Dip
- Ball 4 oz Quilted Jelly Jar

These are so easy to do that John Davis helped me put them together. You can watch my Instagram stories to see him in action : )
I bought caramel dip from the grocery store and put it into the cute little Ball jelly jars. You could certainly make your own but this was a lot easier ; ) We filled the baskets with paper shreds and then placed the apple and caramel dip inside. We sprinkled caramel candies around for a little extra touch.
I created a printable specifically for this apple basket and you can download it HERE to print at home and use for your own teacher gift!
Simply download the free printable, cut out the tag with scissors, and add a hole at the top with a hole punch.
I printed the tag on Kraft scrapbook paper because I liked the natural color paired with the natural berry basket.
I used a clear plastic basket bag to wrap up the basket. I love the clear basket bags from the DollarTree and always keep a few on hand. They are large so I just cut it down to size to make it work.
Lastly, attach your gift tag printable by stringing a ribbon through the hole and tying a knot. I like to use wire ribbon so I can bend it into position and it will stay put.
With a little bribery, John Davis willingly agreed to model the finished gift basket 🙂
That little face gets away with a lot. This Mama is a total sucker for that sweet boy!
John Davis was very proud of his creation and kept telling me he was going to take it to Ms. Emily and Ms. Christin.
And if you’re wondering why he’s looking down at the basket, it’s because he was trying to figure out why I put the caramels inside where he couldn’t get to them to eat them anymore! He snuck a few while he was helping me 🙂
Good thing he’s so cute!
If you’re looking for a quick and easy gift to put together for the teacher on the first day of school, I hope this little tutorial is helpful! And if you use the free printable please tag me on Instagram!
One last (outtake) of John Davis but I just love that little face so much.
